Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS)

At Carolina Complete Health, we are here to support you with Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS). It is a Medicaid program for those who need a more hands-on, flexible, and custom care plan. With LTSS, we are giving our members more control over their health and the care they receive.

Every year, millions of Medicaid enrollees of all ages use and rely on LTSS, from supported employment to personal care services.

The Value of LTSS

Here are some of the ways LTSS takes care of members:

Care managers help members manage and create their care plan and are available to everyone enrolled in LTSS. They are also available to help answer any questions or concerns members might have about their benefits.

Personal Care Services assist members in need with everyday tasks like bathing, dressing, toileting, ambulation, meal prep and cleaning.

Private Duty Nursing (PDN) provides skilled nursing care in the home.  Prior approval is required for PDN services.

Limited Nursing home coverage allows members to be in a 24/7 facility that provides a full range of health care services.

Home Infusion Therapy (HIT) covers self-managed infusion therapy and enteral supplies if members live in a private or an adult care home. The covered services include:

  • Total parenteral nutrition (TPN)
  • Enteral nutrition (EN)
  • Intravenous chemotherapy
  • Intravenous antibiotic therapy
  • Pain management therapy

Emotional support and resources for members’ family and caregivers.
