Diabetes
Diabetes is a condition that occurs when the body is not able to manage blood sugar (glucose) levels. It happens when the pancreas does not make enough insulin or does not process it effectively. Blood glucose levels should be monitored regularly to help manage diabetes effectively and to
prevent possible complications.
How To Manage Diabetes
Recommended Yearly Screenings:
- Eye Exam. Annual eye exams are recommended for people with diabetes to check for eye health issues that are caused by high blood sugar.
- Kidney Exam Annual kidney exams to detect early signs of kidney damage, which can prevent serious kidney disease.
- A1C. Annual A1C level testing to determine how well the body is processing blood sugar. These results can help with creating a customized treatment plan and prevent problems.
