Carolina Complete Health members enrolled in kindergarten through 6th grade are eligible for up to 24 hours of online tutoring in math and/or reading per year. The parent/guardian of the member must fill out the K-6 Tutoring Support Form and Consent of Electronic Signature to allow the tutoring vendor (Educational Tutorial Services) to begin the tutoring engagement.
Eligible members may receive up to 24 hours of online tutoring. Limit one session per week. Parents/guardians can work with the tutor to determine how best to use the tutoring hours. Members can receive 24, one-hour sessions or 48, 30-minute sessions, or a combination to total the 24 hours. The parent/guardian of the member should work with the tutor to determine what will work best to help the member achieve their goals. Tutors track the hours and will report the hours to the parent/guardian regularly.
All tutoring is delivered online and requires that the member have access to a computer/laptop and Wi-Fi. If the member does not have access to a computer/laptop and Wi-Fi in their home, they may be able to access this technology through their local library or community center.
If the member does not have access to the technology needed for online tutoring, please contact Carolina Complete Health’s Member Services at 1-833-552-3876 (TTY 711) and we will work to identify a solution.
Please note: If the child and/or parent are new to working on a computer, one additional session will be added before tutoring begins to help the member/parent navigate the system; this additional session would not be counted toward the 24 hours.
If/when a parent/guardian needs to cancel a tutoring session, it must be cancelled 24 hours or more in advance or the session will count toward the maximum total number of hours. If/when a tutor needs to cancel a session, it must also be cancelled 24 hours or more in advance of the session. Tutoring sessions that are cancelled 24 hours or more will be rescheduled. Tutoring sessions that are cancelled less than 24 hours before the session will be counted toward the total number of hours.
Please note: Carolina Complete Health will consider (but not guarantee) exceptions to the 24-hour cancellation policy in cases of emergency (death/illness in the family, inclement weather, power outages, etc.).
No-shows are when a member does not show up for the tutoring session within the first 15 minutes of the start time. No-shows will be counted toward the total number of tutoring hours.
No-shows are when a tutor does not show up for the tutoring session within the first 15 minutes of the start time. Tutor no-shows will NOT be counted toward the total number of tutoring hours.

Members and tutors should have their camera turned on during the tutoring sessions with minimal background noise and distractions where possible.
